Scapa The Orcadian is a single malt Scotch whisky from the Scapa Distillery on the Orkney Islands, Scotland. Founded in 1885, Scapa crafts whiskies that are lightly peated (often unpeated or only subtly smoky), using water drawn from the Lingro Burn and maturing largely in American oak casks. The “Orcadian” expressions (like Skiren, Glansa) reflect the distillery’s revisited core range after discontinuation of its age-statement bottlings.
Tasting Notes:
-
Appearance: Warm amber-gold with good clarity and slight viscosity
-
Aroma: Sweet honey, orchard fruits (pear, apple), citrus peel with floral undertones; mild coastal air or gentle sea spray
-

-
Finish: Smooth and medium-length, with lingering sweetness, mild dryness and a faint hint of salt or smoke depending on expression

Serving Suggestions: Best served neat in a tulip or Glencairn glass to appreciate aroma; a few drops of water may unlock oak and fruit layers. Pairs well with smoked salmon, shellfish, or soft cheeses. Also suitable as a refined after-dinner dram.
