Tommasi Valpolicella is a classic Italian red wine from the Valpolicella DOC region in Veneto. The wine is typically made from a blend of native grape varieties—Corvina, Rondinella, and Molinara. Fermentation is carried out in stainless steel, with a short maturation, usually partly in large Slavonian oak barrels. The style is meant to be approachable, fresh, and fruity, best consumed relatively young.
Tasting Notes:
- Appearance: Bright ruby red with youthful vibrancy.
- Aroma: Fresh, fruity bouquet—cherry predominates, with hints of red berry and subtle floral undertones.
- Palate: Light to medium-bodied; sweet cherry and red fruit flavours, gentle acidity, soft tannins.
- Finish: Clean, slightly tart fruit lingering nicely; not heavy, easy-going.
- ABV: ~12%
Serving Suggestions:
Serve at about 16-18 °C. Pairs nicely with lighter red meats, pasta dishes with tomato sauce, pizza, or fresh cheeses. Also excellent as an everyday wine, for casual sipping or with simple meals.
