Metaxa 5 Stars is a Greek style “brandied spirit” that blends distilled wine brandy, aged Muscat wines from the islands of Samos and Lemnos, and a secret mix of Mediterranean botanicals and botanicals like rose petals. The brandy component is aged in oak barrels (five years in many instances), which brings wood influence without overwhelming the spirit. It has sweetness and fruit forwardness—apricot, raisin, orange blossom—tempered by floral notes and light spice. Bottled at 38% ABV, it sits in the mid-range of the Metaxa lineup: richer than very young blends, smoother and lighter than the high-starred aged versions.

Serving Suggestions:
Serve neat or over ice to best enjoy its fruit and oak character. Good as a digestif or relaxed evening sipper. Also works in long drinks—try it with tonic, ginger ale or soda, perhaps with a little citrus (lemon or orange peel) to brighten. Pair with desserts like apricot tart, honey cake, or with mild cheese.
