Tons de Duorum Red is from the Douro wine region of Portugal, produced by Duorum Vinhos. It is a blend of Touriga Franca, Touriga Nacional and Tinta Roriz grapes. The wine is fermented in stainless steel tanks under controlled temperature and partly aged in second- and third-year French oak barrels for about six months. It is bottled at roughly 13–13.5% ABV.
Tasting Notes:
-
Appearance: Ruby red colour with violet tones showing bright youthful hues.
-
Aroma: Fresh red berries (strawberries, raspberries, blackberries), prunes, with spicy, wood-derived notes from barrel ageing.
-
Palate: Smooth and round; well-balanced acidity, soft ripe tannins, rich red fruits, some vanilla and spice from the oak influence.
-
Finish: Elegant and persistent; fresh and smooth with lingering fruit, mild spice, and a gentle oak touch.
-
ABV: ~13.5%
Serving Suggestions:
Serve at about 16-18 °C in a large red wine glass to allow aromas to open. Pairs well with grilled red meats, barbecue, rich pasta dishes, and hard cheeses. Also quite enjoyable on its own, especially with food that complements red berries, mild oak, and balanced acidity.
