Corte delle Calli is an Italian Prosecco range produced in Veneto, particularly around the Treviso/Valdobbiadene area. It’s made using predominantly Glera grapes, often blended with small amounts of Chardonnay, Pinot Bianco, and Pinot Grigio depending on the variant. The wines are produced using the Charmat (tank) method, which preserves freshness and the vibrant fruit and floral aromas. Different variants (Brut, Extra Dry, Valdobbiadene DOCG) offer slight variations in sweetness and complexity. Typical ABV is around 11%.
Tasting Notes:
- Appearance: Pale straw-yellow, often with greenish reflections; clear and with fine, lively perlage (bubbles).
- Aroma: Fresh orchard fruit (apple, pear), white blossoms (acacia, wisteria), subtle floral notes; in higher end DOCG versions some tropical fruit hints (pineapple, banana) mixed with light mineral tones.
- Palate: Crisp and fresh; fruit-driven with apple/pear and orchard fruit flavours, balanced by gentle sweetness (depending on style Extra Dry vs Brut), with a clean mouthfeel and soft acidity.
- Finish: Pleasant and lingering for its style; the fruit lingers, bubbles fade gently, with a clean finish.
- ABV: ~ 11%
Serving Suggestions: Chill well (≈ 6-9 °C). Great as an aperitif. Pairs nicely with light seafood, salads, fresh fruit, or mild cheeses. Also works in cocktails like Spritz or Bellini due to its freshness and balanced sweetness.
