Frangelico is an Italian hazelnut and herb-flavored liqueur produced in Canale, Italy, created in 1978 and steeped in legendary tradition. Made from premium Tonda Gentile hazelnuts from Southern Piedmont, which are larger, plumper, and more uniform than regular hazelnuts, combined with coffee, cocoa, vanilla berries, and other natural flavors. The nuts are crumbled and left to soak in the base spirit, then filtered, sweetened, and bottled. The distinctive monk-shaped bottle reflects the legend of Fra Angelico, a hermit monk who created unique liqueur recipes in the Piedmont region.
